Mike Lemothe

Michael Lamothe has been seconded full time to the Ottawa Police Association as a Labour Relations Officer since 2012. He is recognized for his knowledge for both civilian and sworn members in resolving labour issues with innovative and thoughtful ideas for driving change and improving processes.

Mike represents both police officers and civilian members at hearings, conciliations, investigations and at negotiations. As part of his current duties, he sits on the OPS/OPA the Joint Job Evaluation Committee.

In 2018, Mike received the Governor General’s Order of Merit in recognition for his work in police association advocacy for making policing a better place to work.

He graduated from the University of Alabama (1996) with a degree in Criminal Justice and completed his Master of Laws from Osgoode specializing (2017) in alternative dispute resolution.
